TERMS, CONDITIONS & PRIVACY POLICY

These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made through NorthTours Oy (Business ID: [insert Y-tunnus]), hereinafter referred to as “the Company”, operating under northtoursoy.com.
Our aim is to guarantee the success and safety of your visit by ensuring that all bookings and operations follow these clear and fair terms.

1. BOOKINGS AND CONFIRMATION

All safari bookings must be made through our official booking system (Bokun) at www.northtoursoy.com.
If for any reason the system is not functioning, bookings can exceptionally be made by email or phone.

Your booking becomes valid once:

• You have received a booking confirmation by email, and
• You have paid the required deposit or full payment as stated during the booking process.

During your booking, you must provide:

• Full name
• Address
• Phone number and email
• Activity date and time
• Payment type and details (credit/debit card information if required)

By completing your booking, you accept these terms and conditions.

2. PAYMENTS

• Online bookings made through Bokun are charged immediately in full.
• Payments by invoice (if agreed separately) must be paid by the due date stated on the invoice.
  • A €5 invoicing fee applies.
  • Failure to pay by the due date will automatically cancel the booking.
• Payments can be made using major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
• Cash payments are accepted only at our reception if agreed in advance.
• We do not accept cheques, foreign currency, or coupons.

All bank or credit card fees are the customer’s responsibility.

3. CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel your safari, please contact us by email at info@northtoursoy.com.
The cancellation is valid once we have confirmed receipt of your email.

Cancellation fees:

• 100% charge if the booking is cancelled 1 day (24 hours) or less before the event.
• 50% charge if the booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event.
• Free cancellation if cancelled more than 7 days before the event.

In case of no show (non-arrival), the full booking amount (100%) will be charged.

Force Majeure (unforeseeable events):

In case of Force Majeure (natural disasters, extreme weather, flight cancellations, lockdowns, pandemics, or similar circumstances), in this cases the company decides individually.

4. CHANGES BY THE COMPANY

NorthTours Oy reserves the right to:

• Change the route, duration, or content of a safari due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or operational reasons.
• Replace a service with another of similar value if necessary.
• Cancel an activity if the minimum number of participants is not met or if safety cannot be guaranteed.
  In such cases, customers will be offered a new date or a full refund.

5. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

All participants must follow the guide’s instructions at all times for their safety and the safety of animals and equipment.

• Customers participate at their own risk.
• We recommend having valid travel insurance that covers outdoor and animal activities.
• NorthTours Oy is not responsible for accidents or injuries caused by disobeying instructions, behaving recklessly or wrong handling of equipment (slay etc.).
• You can’t take part of any activity if you are under chemical substances or botanical products what effects your recationtime and as alcohol.

Please inform us in advance ASAP about any health conditions, allergies, or disabilities that may affect participation.

Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult unless agreed otherwise.

6. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

NorthTours Oy has statutory liability insurance and complies with Finnish law regarding safety and customer protection.
However, we are not responsible for:

• Personal injuries or property damage caused by customer negligence or ignoring safety instructions.
• Loss or theft of personal belongings during the activity.
• Damages caused by weather or other external conditions beyond our control.

7. ANIMAL WELFARE AND ENVIRONMENT

We operate with the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
All huskies and reindeer are cared for year-round according to Finnish law and ethical guidelines.
Visitors are required to treat animals respectfully and follow guide instructions when interacting with them.

8. WEATHER CONDITIONS

All safaris are dependent on weather and natural conditions.
We reserve the right to modify or cancel activities for safety reasons.
If an activity must be cancelled due to poor weather, we will offer an alternative program or a full refund.

9. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

Your personal information will be handled confidentially according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We use your data only for booking, communication, and safety purposes.
Data will not be shared with third parties except when required by law or necessary for providing the booked service.

10. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These terms are governed by Finnish law.
Any disputes arising from these terms or services will primarily be settled through negotiation.
If no agreement is reached, disputes will be handled by the Lapland District Court (Lapin käräjäoikeus).
